It is one of the grandest pieces of choral music, full of great melodies, drama and? passion, almost like an<br \/>\nopera. The original work is for a large orchestra, so performances are quite rare. My arrangement retains the grandeur and timbre of the original, butre-worked for a<br \/>\nsmaller ensemble. This allows the piece to be performed more frequently, in smaller venues, while allowing the singers to be heard more clearly. I am grateful and happy that it is being? performed by the chorale of Osaka Consort under the direction of Ken TOMIOKA in Japan for the first time, a country famous around the world for its outstanding musical tradition and cultural history.
